Carson McMullers was born on febuary 19, 1917 in Columbus Georgia. Carson McMullers wanted to be a musician at first instead of a writer, but she became sick and was deciding on what her career should be instead. She was a leading female writer of southern gothic fiction. She became very successful early on, at age 19 she published her first book which was edited by her former writing teacher. Carson McMullers first novel gained a large amount of critical praise When her career was going off she was having difficulties personally for example she and her husband got divorced, but 5 years later they remarried. She wrote five novels, two plays, and 20 short stories. While living near Paris Francein the early 1950s, Reeves tried to convince McCullers to commit suicide with him, fearing for her life she went back to the united states. Her husband that killed himself in a paris hotel room. During the final fifteen years of her life McCullers experienced a decline in health and creative writing abilities. On August 15, 1967 she suffered a cerebral stroke and died.

No, i have never gotten so mad i said something i really didn't mean.
How did you feel after you calmed down?
After i calmed down i apologized to the person for getting mad at them. We then made up and were friends again.
What did you do about the situation?
I calmed down and told my friend i am sorry for my actions and apologized. He then apologized back.

pete is proud
Pete is proud to act like Suckers big brother for example he says things like "You're a swell kid, Sucker," Page 15 to show that they are like brothers and because Pete realizes Sucker just wants someone to talk to. Pete is proud he could take Sucker and Maybelle to the movies, he is happy that Sucker is there to have fun and that he could spend time with Maybelle, page 17 for him its like a win win. Pete is proud that he is finally going out with Maybelle because he always wanted to "Maybelle. All the boys are crazy about her but she didn't even notice me." pete regrets
Pete regrets that what he said to Sucker affected him so much "Our room isn't mine at all anymore. He's gotten up this gang of kids they have a club." Page 21 Sucker went from Pete's best friend and like a little brother to a bad kid in a gang Pete regrets that he is failing English and he says that he does not want to not graduate and end up being a bum page 22 Pete regrets he dated Mabelle, Pete wants nothing to do with Maybelle after she humiliates him and dumps him, he just wants nothing to do with her. "I didn't want to think of Maybelle." Page 19 he doesn't want to think about her because he hates her now. |
